US 'conceals high terror figures'

  • " The large increases in terrorist attacks reported in 2004 may undermine administration claims of success in the war on terror"

There were about 650 such attacks last year," Henry Waxman said, citing official briefings given to congressional aides, "- up from 175 in 2003, a record number at the time.
Iraqi insurgency 'undiminished'
  • "Between 50 and 60 attacks are carried out each day, the same number as in 2004, according to Gen Richard Myers, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff."
