Since hurricane Charley, the weather has been fine. Actually the weather was fine during Charley. The unpleasant part was all the preparations that we made before the storm, knowing that it would not be enough if Charley made landfall in Tampa Bay. The winds barely reached forty miles an hour, despite news reports to the contrary. Pinellas Point was dead calm. We did see some more rain in the wake of the storm. After Charley passed through Arcadia and Lake Wales, there were some scattered thunderstorms. But over all the weather has been sunny and pleasant. (If you don't mind temperatures in the low nineties.)
Yesterday we had a sudden surprise storm of shocking strength. Around five inches of rain fell in some areas abhor City in Tampa and culprit in Pinellas both had rivers in the streets.
There were also reports of hail, waterspouts and lightning.
We decided to increase our flood insurance to a hundred thousand for the structure and forty thousand for possessions.
