Blogger is featuring Candie Goodyear of Lehigh Acres, for her Blog and comments on Hurricane Charley.
Good Luck to her and her family.
Fortunately [for me] The Storm steered clear of Pinellas County and Tampa. From what I can see of the Damage, we would have lost All of our Property. I cannot fault the National Weather Service for all the focus that they gave to the possibility of the storm landing here. While it did not even rain until today this area has a difficult scenario for evacuation. Pinellas is the most densely populated county south of Manhattan. While most of it seems suburban, There is a great big mass of humanity living on a narrow necked peninsula. As people exited more than twenty for hours in advance, all the major roads were clogged to a stand still. After a storm We could assume that some of these roads would be impassable making the St Petersburg area into an Island.
