It's still sunny but the wind has picked up we are undergoing a mandatory evacuation in efect at six oclock tonight. Special needs people, the elderly, and people in trailer parks are required to leave. The storm is not scheduled to reach land until two p.m. tomorrow, but major preparations started this morning. Pinellas County is a logistical nightmare in an evacuation. We are on a densly populated peninsula, and although we have three major bridges to leave by, the adjacent city of Tampa is also under evacuation orders. In fact they may be expecting a greater storm surge. There are places within the peninsula which are high enough to be safe, but there are not enough shelters for all the people who will be leaving their homes tonight. I have no I dea where I will be sleeping. I'd best go out and secure more stuff in the yard. Plants and lawn furniture which could become Airbourne.
