Pretoria: The African weather obliged. So did the African autumn sun. Its rays, penetrating through the scattered clouds, danced on the faces of the thousands that descended on the Union Buildings to bear witness to a historic and emotional moment.
Africa and the world had descended on the Union Buildings, a symbol of power, to witness the inauguration of Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki being installed as the third democratically elected president of South Africa.
