Imagine if lightning came down from heaven and struck away all your obstacles!
If you were the favored one, then all your soliloquies mattered.
I know the things I imagine hold me like manacles.
Between the flash and the thunder, your world shatters.
Twin towers fall and the ground becomes level.
Mean streets average the distance between you and others.
Every day fills with breaths you might not have taken.
Can you imagine that, never having died? Or remembered birth?
…?
Both what doom decreed and rebirth redeemed,
Are one thing in creation's perfect scene.

I listened to the mess age from Masha. she said that she had called
at Denny's. So hers must be the ring's I heard.
The machine said the message was from 10 something.

I fell asleep for a while. when i looked outside the lizard was still on her wall, darker though, and tucked in the shadow near the house.

I feel tired this morning. The phone just rang.
masha called she had me yelling at her in seconds.
"what she was asking?"
I don't understand how she could hear anything i said before she was asking "what."
I think that she likes to keep people all irritated. she said that they were coming right over before o'Neill's.
Both she and Denny have appointments there this morning.
Denny called back and said that he could hear me. he talked about taking out the battery so that he could get the correct one.

Prayer of Compassion
Our two Dormitory Teachers (aka Hostel Wardens) are Choyang, who doubles as our school nurse and her husband Gonpo, who doubles as Plant Manager. Between the two of them, they manage all the children in the dorms, all the support staff, the clinic, the grounds and the school plant as well. It is Choyang and Gonpo who get up in the middle of the night with a sick child, who organise the cleanup after a school event, and it is they who go the extra mile to help anyone in the school in need. Their responsibilities are infinite, but their salaries are meagre. They give Shree Mangal Dvip their all and ask for very lilttle in return. They are Mum and Dad to Shree Mangal Dvip School. We would be lost without them.
Choyang and Gonpo came from a Tibetan refugee camp in India to work at our school, leaving their three children (two girls and a boy) in school behind them. Since Choyang and Gonpo joined us, both of their girls have lost their sponsors and their girls cannot continue their schooling without help. We want to2

AP study: 177 priests left posts April 28 — At least 177 priests suspected of molesting minors have left their posts in 28 states and the District of Columbia since the sex scandal erupted in January, a nationwide review of Roman Catholic dioceses by The Associated Press found. And the man at the center of some of the worst of the scandal, Boston’s embattled archbishop Cardinal Bernard Law, has denied rumors he might sidestep the situation by leaving for a new post at the Vatican

"A piece of wood" was chosen as the title for this log because the two words share an obvious connection. {Log/wood} sorry to sound simplistic I spent a good part of the afternoon talking with an eight year old.
His name is Andrew although I got confused and called him Alexander. Sometimes he rides down the street holding a flag in one hand and pedaling his bicycle as hard as he can. Together we built a structure of bamboo and wire that was to serve as a garage for a matchbox car. He said he missed his real mom. Something has infected his eyes. He weeps pus and has scabs. He says that it gets better when he gets his medicines.I notice that he has trouble focusing on small print or detailed objects but he recognised words quickly sometimes after only three letters. He said he will see his real mom tomorrow. he said that he was a foster child and we told him that was ok. We didnt say why. But we looked at each other.
10:57 PM 4/26/2002
Masha and I came over to Denny's;
They were supposed to go to Melbourne for a huge veterans convention, and I was dropping her off.
Denny Likes to avoid the traffic rush through Tampa so the late afternoon departure was a bad idea.
We ended up leaving just after sunset. I talked almost nonstop about which planet was which and how we might never see such a gathering of stars.
He had just finished a tall glass of vodka and OJ and was becoming incoherent. Masha and I talked outside. Mostly I told her that I just needed to talk not her answers or anything. Just be with me and let me say things.
Playing with Andrew was pretty intense. An eight year old is like a human radio. They can't help but broadcast how they feel to all around them.
11:20 PM 4/26/2002
Mainly andrew and I worked on getting the garage built. he liked the ide of puting a stick in the ground, and setting the bamboo overit but he ground was too hard becase of the stones .
I liked the idea of using wire to fill the holes and provide a flexible joint. we tried stringing the bamboo on a piece of vine. I thouhgt that we could put the cutoffs on a string like that as beads (you know as a gift for his mom.) What we settled on was tripods we each made one argued over the pliers and then joined them by a leg making a six legged sawhorse i added extra wire to stabilize and wrapped the corners with long grasslike leaves.

mash and denny were going to leave yesterday for melbourne FL where a gathering of vietnam veterans takes place every year. The event is actually sponsored by Vietnam veterans of Brevard county. they've been doing it for fifteen years, and since it's in Florida, the event has grown to become the nations largest veterans reunion. losts of these guys were in the service when woodstock happened. This is their version of the event with a few differences. First it's organized, as you might expect from military guys. Second it is sober and serious and third I've never been their though i get invited. I'm looking after someones house.
Finally they are off!!! Masha and denny! Peter left yesterday around three. When we fought the other day, he took his usual strategy of restraining and this time I used his grip on me and fell myself. It was difficult because i did have to plant a foot inside his stance and draw him away from the window to avoid shatter. The same with the glasses. I remember three hands reaching down to move away his glasses one was mine, masha's then his.

So far I've heard from Mark Leib, Amanda Ransom and Scott Ward.
Amanda respectfully declined (although she liked the idea of "full circle."
Lana Romani spoke with me twice and used a high volume (and pitch.)
Meinke will be giving reading first week in May. (According to Masha, he occaisionally serves on peoples commitees)
Masha wants me to come to class with her tonight
Peter went for an X-ray......Nor sesults so far
Masha told me this in confidence.
She said that to her knowledge she had not described this to any one.
Maybe I'll ask Scott about poetry, he wants thesis ready product though. not Weblogs

Saturday I left the house in late morning. Downtown was still sleepy as though shaking off the effects of a bad tourist season. I parked in an empty lot facing fourth street south that was reserved for clients of such and such. I sat on the hood of the car facing south and counted beads for breaths. A couple of people said good morning. I got impatient with the last few beads and said mantra for some people that are genuinely hurting, like the old homeless man pushing a cart with a hundred bungee cords. I picked up trash and bottles around the whole lot to where it borders with parking for the Holocaust Museum, and then drove over to park on Central Avenue where i looked at used shoes and then I headed down to the Mainsail art show which is bigger than ever. People were mobbing all over the place. The work i saw looked good and the people viewing it seemed knowledgeable.
Central Casting: Aloe
Back in the corner, there's an aloe plant on the grey marble window ledge, the scales on it have grown big and healthy. A red species that I've never seen before. The poor aloe has withered a bit, more from a swamp of helpful waterings than the fat parisites. A thread of sugar loving ants has wound it's way up the wall and past the coffee pot to tap the sticky residue from the scale bugs.
Update=8:38 PM 9/14/2005
I don't think any one has watered the poor plant in all this time.(we replaced the scally on years ago)
People make promises all the tim .... what good are they?

My Last Post must have failed, the computer hung up and would not connect, and then Masha needed the phone to field a call from Mike T. for Peter.
Maybe notepad is better for working, less to distract, more attention to the writing and mechanics of keyboarding. Especially after the experience of the Dragin'NotSpeakin' Which crashed and made me train it over and over while it filled up the hard drive with increasingly histrionic variations of my speak patterns.
I am exited about having these Blogs, and using them. What I started on Postcard was partly the result of trying to clean up around the house and on the computer. I needed a place to put stuff if it was meaningful so I could work on it later and perhaps complete my thesis.
Some of the writing is just a could-be-couplet or an aphoristic observation written on a napkin scrap. Also there are some quotes that inspired me or one of my friends, and a couple of chunks of my thesis.
I made Brunch for Masha and I (omelet and miso soup) the Iguana came down from the bookcase and had to go out side. We negotiated over the portioning of the food, the handling of the Iguana and the washing of the dishes.
I didn't have time to post before Masha needed to use the phone. That is why I'm writing this now. With luck it won't get zapped before I'm done posting.
Last night I found a Blog called this Lady was writing about the hassles of going though American Immigration. She also wrote about going to a meditation retreat and posted song lyrics and poetry along with commentary and links to other Blogs and webstuff. Most bloggers do that apparently. It is just that I found myself skipping around the net following her train of thought. The company she works for should pay her (well) to teach Communication at a community college in Provincial America. (Alas that's not their business and I think she loves the city to well). Still, Fred Wright teaches everywhere by correspondence. ---BW 12:12 PM 4/15/2002

I went and did a lot of writing by hand to day. I was in a volaitile mood, so I went out with an old/new notebook and the exellent pen that Masha gave me from her visit to the Service Merchandise clearance.
There were two occaisions where I Stepped out this way, but the result was that I filled several pages with tin(y) lie(n)s of compacted script Scattered a-sequentially through the pages of the book that i'd barely filled with data.
I tried to comment on things that i wrote before on the older empty pages. The note book was designed to be a day at a glance with apointments and priorities on the left. on the right are the big spaces so i dated my current entries and wrote in the places which i don't seem to use much...
I should learn to plan better.

So then what is the problem? When I wake up it's all starting over. It's a new day (rabbit) and a new (lunar) month (fire dragon).
Just got up, I said "good morning". Masha came in and said, "good morning how are you" as though it were a formal thing. Then she stepped up to the screen and asked "what's that" in an innocent sounding voice as she picked up a cheap-plastic ($1) framed dancing skeleton thing. I handed it to her and said that there was a larger version of it elsewhere. She said stuff I couldn’t hear, so, I was saying “what” to her and then I saw she had picked up a photo of Charlie-Mitza-the-postal-cat. Then I asked if she wanted the phone, and I disconnected, and went to the kitchen, started coffee, and felt natures call so I took this (laptop) into the bath room
Now she said she wants to talk to me and says she wants to wait till I get out and looking in (no door) sees that I’m still typing she said that taking the computer to the bathroom is ridiculous (screaming) Isaid I’d be right out but she just wanted my full attention. And kept on about Computer bathroom stuff so I came rith out with my pants still down and sat on the floor. She kept on at me for a minute and then got on the phone stressing the ridiculousness of what I was doing. This all takes less than 15 minutes. I wish had better stuff to say right now
