Prayer of Compassion

Our two Dormitory Teachers (aka Hostel Wardens) are Choyang, who doubles as our school nurse and her husband Gonpo, who doubles as Plant Manager. Between the two of them, they manage all the children in the dorms, all the support staff, the clinic, the grounds and the school plant as well. It is Choyang and Gonpo who get up in the middle of the night with a sick child, who organise the cleanup after a school event, and it is they who go the extra mile to help anyone in the school in need. Their responsibilities are infinite, but their salaries are meagre. They give Shree Mangal Dvip their all and ask for very lilttle in return.They are Mum and Dad to Shree Mangal Dvip School. We would be lost without them.

Choyang and Gonpo came from a Tibetan refugee camp in India to work at our school, leaving their three children (two girls and a boy) in school behind them. Since Choyang and Gonpo joined us, both of their girls have lost their sponsors and their girls cannot continue their schooling without help. We want to2
